Gerry LaFemina

Gerry LaFemina holds an MFA in Poetry and an MA in Literature from Western Michigan University, and is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College. He has taught at Kirtland Community College, West Virginia University, and Sarah Lawrence College, and currently serves as Professor of English at Frostburg State University and a mentor in the Carlow University low-residency MFA program. He is the former director of the Frostburg Center for Literary Arts, a former Board Member of the AWP, and President of Savage Mountain Punk Arts.

LaFemina believes poetry is the highest art form; that teaching is a calling; in love, Bigfoot, and other mythic creatures; in the power of good food, good whiskey, and good friends; and that laughter is a type of prayer.
